A couple of weeks ago I took a workshop given by Arwana Schwamer on painting on masa paper. I have been curious about this for a while. It involves wetting masa paper, slapping on paint and sumi ink then glueing the masa to watercolor paper. When the whole thing is dry, applying watercolors using a whole different brush technique. I had a lot of fun doing this. The masa paper gives a really nice textured effect.
