watercolor monotypes
In Garrett County, spring is a fluctuating season. In this past week we have gone from snow flurries to temperatures in the high 70's (accompanied by a tornado warning) to rain/fog and 40 degrees. I have been trying to figure out how to do watercolor monotypes. Jean Barnes Downs invited me to come to her studio on one of those 40 degree foggy, wet days for a "play date". What a fun day we had talking art talk, painting, lunch with her husband Ray and printing. I learned much from her and enjoyed the sharing of our art. Watercolor Monotypes. .. ..
In Jan. 1995, I painted my first picture using watercolors and it was an immediate love affair. Since then I have tried to paint almost daily. Out of my love of the craft, I developed a passion for promoting the arts and opportunity for other artists to develop their craft. I continue to paint on a daily basis and to love the act of putting pigment on paper.
