Aonther Photo
We loved Amsterdam. The canals were beautiful and the gables of building fascinating. For me, the two days we spent at the Rikes Museum and The Van Gogh were a dream come true. When I was last in Amsterdam, I wasn't an artist. I certainly saw it differently this time, through my artist eyes.
Travels Photos
It is a gorgeous Memorial Day weekend in Garrett County Maryland. As we continue to catch up from our "Great Adventure", I have had some time to start working on my photos. One from each city. . . not necessarily the "best" or a "favorite", just ones I like.
We walked everywhere in each city. One night, after walking for 9 hours in Rome, as we crossed the river to go to our apartment I glanced to my right and saw this sunset with St Peter's outlined. Rome was great fun and so interesting. We loved it,too.
The night sky in Florence was ultramarine blue. With the pink, green and white marble of the duomo against the sky (with the moon) , it was breathtaking.

Back In Bittinger MD
Alan and I returned home a week ago. The past week was hectic. The first two days I was home, we rehung the Gallery at 206 E Alder Street after it had been painted and freshened up. It looks terrific for the summer season. Then I spent two days taking a painting workshop sponsored by the Western Maryland Watercolor Society. David Daniels was the instructor, and despite the fact I had taken 3 workshops from Dave in the past, he had a lot of new information and suggestions. It was great fun to be with him again.
While we were in Italy and Holland I didn't do any painting but drew a lot.
The day we saw Michelangelo's David was particularily moving and inspiring. I couldn't resist hauling out my pencil and giving it a try.

I am not thrilled with the piece I did in Dave Daniel's workshop. I post just to prove I am still painting. This piece is, as they say, "is a work in progress". I love the colors. And that is Dave's strong suit. . .color.

Italy
From Bittinger MD to Italy. Alan and I are currently in Florence having spent 5 days in Rome. I can hardly wait to post some photos next week. It has been a FABULOUS adventure seeing some the best art in the world in all three cities. What an incredible experience. The highlight today was Michelangelos David. Probably the most incredible sculpture I have ever seen. ..
Until next week ciao. .. .

Amsterdam
Greetings from Amsterdam. I have a ton of photos in my camera but can't download them here. For now, you will have to take my word for it. . . . Amsterdam is a fabulous city. Alan and I flew nonstop Friday night to arrive for the biggest holiday of the year. . Queen's Day. Everyone wears orange, there are huge rock concerts in parks and it is Party Time. We wandered and looked and made it through the day. Today, May Day, we walked the city for 7 hours. What a fascinating city. I will post photos after we get home.
Until then. . . . celebrate life. . .we are.
