Welcome 2010

2010 has arrived in good Garrett County style: wind, snow and cold.  It is currently 5 degrees outside, snowing lightly and very windy.   This kind of weather forces Alan and I to retreat to our respective work places: Alan goes to  his workshop and I go to the studio.   The result is that we have some really productive days in the winter.
I must say, tho, that it is quite beautiful in Garrett County today.

The weed pot is made from a piece of cherry burl that was given to Alan by Fred Peacock.
We had a large hickory tree fall down last winter.   Alan was able to make several bowls from that hickory tree.

The drawer box is made from a piece of plum that was given to Alan by our photographer friend, Jim Lawrence.
The "knob" box is from a locust tree on our property.   The cherry bowl is from a  tree from our woods.
